Joseph McKeown
Director and President
Joe McKeown had a 36-year career at U.S. Bank where he held the position of Senior Vice President. Following his retirement from U.S. Bank, he joined the Al Peirce Company in 2008 as its Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Joe has had extensive experience serving on the boards of directors of various businesses and philanthropic organizations. Joe grew up in Coos Bay and has made this area his home again.
John W. Sweet
Director
John Sweet is a lifelong citizen of Coos County with experience in forestry, agriculture, banking, and ocean transportation. He has served as a board member of The Ford Family Foundation and on Oregon Community Foundation’s Regional Leadership Team. He currently serves as a Coos County Commissioner.
William R. Trout
Director
William R. Trout was engaged in the practice of law and banking until his retirement in 2013. He has served in multiple capacities in public service organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, The Saint Andrew Nativity School, The Audubon Society, The Children’s Trust for Oregon, and the Deschutes River Alliance. He lives in Washington with his wife Leslie, and has three children and five grandchildren.
Richard Barron
Director
Rick Barron was a circuit court judge for 37 years in Coos and Curry counties. In 2007, he was awarded the Wallace P. Carson, Jr. Award for Judicial Excellence. He has previously served on the boards of nonprofit charitable organizations.
Shirley MacAdam
Director
Shirley MacAdam, CPA is recently retired after twenty years as a co-founder and partner with HMW CPAs & Associates, LLC in Coos Bay/North Bend. Her commitment to the community is long standing with her passion focused on education, small business and economic development and the quality of life for all families of the South Coast.
Kara Davidson
Director
Kara Davidson is a former elementary school teacher and the current principal of Eastside School in Coos Bay. She has worked for the Coos Bay School District since 2005 serving as a teacher, coach, and administrator.
Payton Smith
Director
Payton Smith is the Director of Communications and Government Affairs for Southport Lumber Co. based in North Bend. A graduate of the University of Oregon, she worked for Roseburg Forest Products before coming back to the Southern Oregon Coast where she has deep ties to the community. Payton also serves as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon.
Marjorie Crook
Secretary and Executive Director
Marjorie Crook has worked as an accountant for 10 years with Al Peirce Co., LLC and as the company’s CFO since 2018. She grew up in the Philippines but has made Coos Bay her home since 2001. She has been an active member of the Filipino organization in the community and currently serves as the Chair of the Al & Hilda Peirce Fund.
